dark draft slips
down my sore throat
warm cold toes
every moment i reflect
the thaw came
melted the dirt
hiding treasure
mostly good stuff
not pop cans and butts
a few hours of night
energy melts from me
fresh burden settles in the trees
where it stays
where i return
to my frozen slumber

Sara
how does a normal person move through their day?
who cares?
it wouldn't help you
far from normal
out of sight of ordinary
moving though a day
your bones were made to
breath and grow and express
each day by night fall you can grow
into a giant
bones nurished with a single day's tasks
they grow and sometimes they
shrink or weaken
the next day they only grow
bigger strong higher
how does a normal person move through their day?
who cares?
no help you you
you are a giant.
who cares?
it wouldn't help you
far from normal
out of sight of ordinary
moving though a day
your bones were made to
breath and grow and express
each day by night fall you can grow
into a giant
bones nurished with a single day's tasks
they grow and sometimes they
shrink or weaken
the next day they only grow
bigger strong higher
how does a normal person move through their day?
who cares?
no help you you
you are a giant.

Untitled Winter
diluted white sky
stagnant white ground
gray landscape merges bleakness
gray once gold or green
brilliance hibernates
while i wait for the thaw
man made thoughtless color
cold tense muscles
dear dirty ground
i know your secrets
don't keep them from me long.

i know your secrets

My Purple Den
If everyone healed like me
I could fix everyone
I would say turn off the lights
with a full belly of steak
light all your candles
put on joni mitchell
and listen
about sour grapes
freedom in Paris
people's parties
losing your heart
feel the artist's presence
of another woman
who knows
and feels
and sing along
loud, pretty, with feeling
and find meaning
if everyone healed like me
I could fix everyone.
